Our clients wanted to create an outdoor dining/cooking experience in their backyard that would be a destination for large parties & family gatherings. Our clients definitely did not want a “cookie-cutter” outdoor kitchen island! They envisioned a spacious bar top that would allow for guests to relax on bar stools & give plenty of countertop space for serving & preparing food. They also wanted a variety of cooking utilities including both a grill & a smoker for their outdoor kitchen. After we got our clients’ wish list, we set out to create the outdoor kitchen of their dreams!
We began by developing a detailed 3D rendering for our clients so that they could fully visualize the dramatic transformation we planned. Our plan was for a spacious outdoor kitchen island that would create a large L-shaped bar within the space. We decided on a variety of cooking utilities so our clients would have plenty of options for their dining experience; this included a 4-Burner Gas Grill, Green Egg Smoker, & an EVO! Our clients fell in love with the idea of having the EVO once they visited our Botanical Garden & Design Studio. We walked our clients through our display kitchen & the EVO immediately jumped out at them. It gives clients a large, flat grill surface to cook anything from steaks to stir fry! At our Botanical Garden we were also able to walk our clients through their material’s selection so that they could easily select the finishes they would like for their new outdoor kitchen island. They ended up opting for a smooth stucco finish with a decorative tile base & a boldly stained concrete countertop.
Once we had confirmed the design of the outdoor kitchen island with our clients, we got to work immediately! After a few weeks of intense construction by our talented team of craftsmen, our clients’ dream outdoor kitchen island was complete! They now had a spacious grilling/dining space that their whole family could enjoy! They especially loved how much room the outdoor kitchen island gave them along the new extended bar countertop. Our clients were so thrilled with the completion of the outdoor kitchen island that they requested our help in updating a few other areas around their spacious property.
Another item our clients had been dreaming of was an outdoor shower near their pool. We used a combination of decorative tile (to match the outdoor kitchen island) & brick (to match the existing architecture) to create their new pool shower. Once it was completed it was as much a piece of art for the backyard as it was a functioning shower.
In addition to the outdoor kitchen space, our clients also desperately wanted an updated view outside their main dining room. The window views currently were dominated by block wall & not much else. We gave the planter space a fresh look with updated plantings & incorporated one of our vintage ceramic fountain pots to bring in the relaxing sound/visual of falling water.
Finally, our clients have a property that is perfect for entertaining all of their family & friends!
